Many of the core members of this team worked together at GeoGraphix, a firm founded by Cartasite CEO David Armitage in the early 80s. GeoGraphix developed some of the first Geographic Information Systems used for oil and gas exploration and subsurface modeling. Ten years after the sale of GeoGraphix to Halliburton, the software suite remains dominant in the industry.
